- This narrow blade spike tomahawk is made with a hand forged head with a very narrow blade and long spike
- Head copied from an original
- Switch like handle handmade of osage in an octagonal shape with two wedding bands
- On the center of the handle is a hand formed wrap made from a piece of tin plate commonly used to make lanterns and various buckets and pans of the period. This metal work could have been done by a tinker and was used as a reinforcement or even a repair band for the handle. This band also takes on the octagonal shape of the handle. At the top and bottom of the band are punched circles for decoration
- This spike tomahawk is very light and well balanced; stained very dark showing many dings, scratches and nicks from hard use
- This wood was collected from an old uprooted osage orange tree in the Clearcreek Valley near the confluence of the Hocking River in Fairfield County, Ohio (close to where Lord Dunmore marched his troops to sign a treaty with the Shawnee at Fort Charlotte)
- Stamped with touch-mark
