An Indian style knife typically used for skinning or quartering game thus called a skinner knife:
- Hand forged blade of carbon steel measuring 7.25″ – very thin showing plenty of use with a nice tapered cutting edge
- Hand forged S-guard that transitions between the blade and handle to protect your hand and fingers from cuts due to sliding
- Handle was made from a deer leg bone, beautifully aged with discoloration and fine surface cracks that denote age but are not structural)
- To hold the handle in place, the tang of the knife travels through the bone and penetrates the back knuckle of the deer leg and is peened over a old square nut
- A brass washer was placed between the S-guard and the handle to protect the bone of the handle from cracking under pressure
- overall length of knife is 12.5″
