A traditional D-guard bowie knife of the nineteenth century made during the Mexican American War and used through the Civil War by Confederate and Union soldiers:
- Hand forged blade measuring 12″, tip of the blade has a drop point with overall length of the knife 16.5″
- Handle made from osage orange filed in octagonal shape
- D-guard is finished with a scroll and held to the handle with a square nut
- Handle inlaid with two brass ferrules and two escutcheons finished out with brass round headed nails
- Knife is aged to resemble an original
- Brass escutcheons can be engraved with owner’s initials upon request
- Blade is razor sharp
