Nineteenth century Triple Batwing Pipe Tomahawk; a Plains Indian tomahawk
- Replicated from an original; one of two originals I’ve ever seen with this design
- Hand forged head; very large upwards to 10″
- Referred to as a triple bat-wing style head due to the shape of one of the piercings which resembles a bat while another is a fly and the middle one is a heart
- Barrel style bowl with triple wedding bands ending with a chevron molding
- Diamond shaped eye which retains a hand drilled and shaped osage orange handle
- Handle has been file branded to the hand-hold and below the hand-hold to the mouthpiece
- Mouthpiece is a pre-1870s copper 30-30 cartridge
- Handle is adorned with over 100 brass tacks some showing minute cracks as do the originals
- Handle has two drop holes, one above and one below the hand-hold
- Appropriately aged and stressed
