A mid to late 18th century double pierced spike tomahawk (commissioned piece)
- Hand forged head
- Single piece construction with an oval eye and pointed lower ears
- The blade and spike have been pierced to lighten up the head for fast recovery; the piercings have a bordered chase engraving as well
- Handle is made from hickory that transitions from oval to octagonal with a round ball knob to finish it
- Handle is stained and aged to resemble hard battle use
- Spike tomahawks like this were commonly carried by most Eastern Woodland Indian tribes
- The shape of this spike tomahawk was replicated from an original without the piercing – pierced upon client’s request maintaining historical accuracy
