Banded Bowl Pipe Tomahawk
A commissioned piece:
- Hand forged head replicated from an original in a museum
- This pipe tomahawk has a unique shaped bowl with a wide flat wedding band hand filed at its opening
- Handle is made from figured ash collected from a down tree along the Scioto River near Columbus, OH
- Handle is hand drilled, shaped by me with a traditional stain and finish
- Per client’s request, a feather drop was added consisting of several different totems including a brass trade kettle Cross, brass cone filled with red-dyed deer hair, black crow feather and a salt and pepper simulated bird of prey feather
- This tomahawk is aged with a lightly used patina
- Stamped with touch-mark
